Getting stuck on the Lost Ark loading screen can be a rather frustrating experience. Especially if there’s new content you can’t wait to dive into, but can’t. The Lost Ark loading screen stuck issue can occur for various reasons. The problem may be with your system or your internet connection. It can be something with your game client. It can also happen when a new update introduces bugs. Here are some possible solutions to fix the Lost Ark stuck on loading screen issue.
Lost Ark stuck on loading screen fix
Before listing the possible solutions that can solve your problem, keep in mind that the problem could very well be a bug that needs to be fixed by the developers and has nothing to do with the players. For example, at the time of writing, when the March update was released, there are issues on the EU West server caused by the game itself. If you’re experiencing a loading screen issue during an update, it’s likely caused by the update itself. That said, here’s what you can do to make sure this problem isn’t on your end.
Restart Lost Ark and/or your PC
Often the good old reboot will fix all the problems. Try restarting the game and your PC and see if that will fix the game stuck on loading screen issue. Most likely the game did not load properly and restarting it will fix all issues.
Update the Lost Ark
Always make sure your game is up to date. Lost Ark is an online game, and any incompatibility between your client’s version and the version on the servers will cause a conflict and the game will crash or freeze on the loading screen. If you want to be sure everything is fine, we recommend a clean install of the game. Uninstall the game from Steam, restart your PC, then reinstall Lost Ark.
Verify game files on Steam
The “Verify Integrity of Game Files” option on Steam is a very useful tool that will make sure your game is installed correctly and nothing is missing. Here’s how to check Lost Ark files on Steam:
- Right click on Lost Ark in your Steam Library
- Select “Properties…”
- Select the “Local Files” tab
- Click “Verify integrity of game files.”
- Wait for Steam to finish
- Once done, restart your PC
- Launch Steam and start Lost Ark
Check your internet connection
It goes without saying, but Lost Ark needs a good and stable internet connection. Check if your internet connection is working properly in other games. If possible, use an Ethernet cable rather than a WiFi network. Make sure Lost Ark is whitelisted by your antivirus and firewall applications.
Check if the Lost Ark servers are down
Finally, if you are unable to enter the game and are stuck on the loading screen, you might want to check if the game is currently online. The developer, Smilegate, often releases updates and patches, making the game offline. If so, just wait for the servers to come back online. That being said, that’s about all you can do to try and fix the Lost Ark Stuck loading screen issue. If none of the above works, it probably has nothing to do with you.
