Users complain about screen flickering and green tint issues

Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro are the hottest smartphones launched recently. While the launch event took place on October 19, 2021, some of the first customers have got their hands on smartphones and are reporting issues with them. Apparently, Google’s new devices have unexpected green tint effects and screen flickering issues. The problems appeared to surface online within days of the smartphone going on sale in the United States.

As Android Police noticed, the display on Google Pixel 6 Pro has a major flickering issue. Customers have turned to microblogging platforms like Reddit to report the problem. According to a thread on Reddit, the display on Google Pixel 6 Pro started blinking when the user pressed the power button. The user appears to have attached a video, which clearly shows the problem.

Although the complaints about the screen flickering are specific to the Google Pixel 6 Pro, it is not clear if the same problem exists on the Google Pixel 6. While some users believe that the problem is due to a static charge which expands during use and releases when a user presses the power button, the issue causing this issue is not yet confirmed.

User reported Google Pixel 6 green tint issue

Another Reddit thread reports a tint of green screen on the Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro. As shown in the image included in the thread, the Pixel device has a clearly visible green tint in the upper right corner of the screen, while the device is locked and asking for a pattern to unlock. The green tint may be present all over the screen and the difference in visibility may be due to the angle of the camera. It is still unclear whether the problem is due to a hardware or software issue.
